HEY! LONG TIME NO SEE!

Hey guys! I think this may be officially the longest I’ve gone without writing anything here on the blog. As you can probably tell, if you’ve read any of my previous posts, my blog is centred mostly around travel content but there’s been not much of that happening in the last 18 months for obvious reasons. In fact my birthday weekend a few weeks ago was only my first overnight trip and hotel stay since December 2019!

This last year and a half turned out to be a bit of a mess and I am sure it was the same for many of you too. I initially wrote down a whole list of the things that happened but then decided I don’t really want to go into detail about all the personal stuff that happened and ended up editing it all out. But the constant fight or flight mode and the constant stress and uncertainty have really put me in a little bit of a funk and I didn’t feel like blogging much. Whilst at the start of the first lockdown I was motivated to do all the things I’ve always wanted to try but never before had the time for like learning macrame and candle making by the time the third lockdown came around every day felt like a total drag and I could just about muster enough energy to watch Netflix and drink wine. I still feel a little bit meh to be honest and even though I’ve put together a few blog post ideas I’ve procrastinated about putting pen to paper and writing it all down.

Not being able to travel and being furloughed / working from home / being made redundant meant I’ve been spending more time at home and made me appreciate the importance of a well thought out space even more. I am currently in the process of moving into a new apartment in just a couple of weeks and I absolutely can’t wait to let loose decorating and create my own slice of scandi and boho fusion heaven. I’ve been having the best time ordering fabric swatches and choosing furniture pieces and I am actually considering adding an interior design and home styling section to this blog. Let me know in the comments if this is something you’d enjoy reading.

Last month I turned 35 (I’m definitely not in a place I ever thought I would be at this point both personally and professionally but I am super happy and content with where I did end up. I’m also really excited about what the future holds for me) and celebrated with a long weekend away just half an hour train/taxi ride out of the city in the Hertfordshire countryside. Traveling and mingling with people after such a long time felt a bit weird but turned out to have been much needed. A blog post about it is coming real soon. I’ve also got some more local adventures planned for the next few months, including finally a trip to Bath (I can’t believe I’ve lived less than an hour and a half away in London for sixteen years and haven’t visited yet), that I can’t wait to share with you guys. And of course I’m looking forward to exploring London again and sharing my recommendations with you now that cafes, restaurants and museums are finally open again. I have a long list of new spots I want to visit and some favourites I can’t wait to go back to. Any ideas or suggestions on what you would like to read about are always welcome in the comments!
